Jack's Tongue Gets Un-Tied!

Jack & Drew have both been tongue tied since birth and after much research and many a doctor consult we finally found one experienced enough to do the outpatient procedure (vs in a hospital) and Jack shocked us by agreeing to be the guinea pig and get it done! There may have been a little bribery involved in selling him but hey, you gotta do what you gotta do, right?!
BEFORE
This is tongue-tied Jack in the waiting room on November 15th.  That is a play ground battle wound below his nose...never a dull moment!

The procedure went better than any of us could have imagined!  Jack sat still and with no drugs (aside from a little Tylenol) and he let the doctor clip the skin under his tongue!  A few tears and a little blood but he was really focusing on the impending Toys R Us trip.  He was told he could pick out 3 toys because he did so well (the original deal was for any 1 toy of his choosing...after the procedure, mommy upped it to 2 and daddy saw my 2 and raised it to 3).  He also got to have ice cream for dinner and pick out a cake for "his tongue's birthday"!  WAY TO GO JACK!!!

AFTER
2 weeks later, look how high he can lift his tongue!  It will continue to stretch further over time.  His battle wound is also healing nicely.  LOL
He is working on putting his new tongue freedom to good use...

One day when Drew can actually sit still (please god...please) he will be next!

Happy Halloween!!!

Daddy was on duty this year to take the boys around while I bravely stayed back to hand out candy.  Unfortunately for Dan, it was raining just like it had 2 years ago when he took them.  Drew lasted about 8 houses and then just wanted to hang in the canopy covered wagon and eat his suckers but Jack powered through it and came back with a lot of candy loot!  He even helped me hand out candy the rest of the night, giving 2 big handfuls to everyone, which got him accolades like "Whoa, really?!", "You are doing a really good job buddy!" and "This house is AWESOME!"
How cute are these "mummy" cupcakes that my friend at work made?!  They boys LOVED them!
 Getting ready to leave...
 CHEESE!
Jack wanted daddy to dress up like a soldier, luckily daddy was prepared for that one!
My big boys!  Oh and I'm finally back to being a redhead for the Fall/Winter season...haven't done that in many years!

And they're back and way more interested in sneaking candy from my candy bowls!

Jack's old Spiderman costume was a little short on Drew but he didn't seem to care.  He even wore the mask which Jack never did, even though it kept covering his one eye!
Look at this little muffin!

These are the perfect shots showing both of their tongue ties!
All hopped up on sugar!

Drew posing with the pumpkin mommy painted.
We came inside to warm up and discovered that Aunties Donna & Hope and cousin Gabe sent lots of Halloween goodies.  Way too much (as usual) but the boys definitely loved everything...thank you!
 Drew checking out his goodies.
 THANK YOU!!!  HAPPY HALLOWEEN!

Carving Pumpkins & The Daycare Halloween Parade

Jack learned a lot about pumpkins at school this year and  was really into helping scoop out the "guts" and help carve.  Somehow we missed taking pictures of the finished products but this year we did 4.  Dan did Darth Mull and an old school pumpkin face.  I did a Minion from Despicable Me and Spiderman.
Drew was more comfortable supervising from afar.

Not sure what was going on with the camera settings here for the parade at school but you get the idea.  Drew was hamming it up waving like a politician and Jack looks like he would rather be doing his taxes.
This was the point he found me in the audience.
Drew is killing me with this mask, he never made any attempt to move it off of his eyeballs!  He would just keep tilting his head down and looking up.  So funny.

Discover Dinosaurs

Last weekend we went down to the Milwaukee Fair Grounds to check out the "Discover Dinosaurs" exhibit.  The boys had a great time walking through the big dinosaur exhibit and pointing out their favorites.  There was also a big dino bouncy house play area that really wore them out!  They even got to ride a couple of dinosaurs...video at the end!

Drew's expression pretty much summed up how he felt about this first part.
Checking just to make sure they aren't creeping up behind him!
One let out a big "ROAR" and Drew figured Jack would save him.  LOL
