Drew Discovers A Sippy Cup

During one of our Monday night dinners at Subway Jack decided to put his Cookie Monster had on Drew and let him try his sippy cup, which made for a couple of cute photos!

I'm Like Mr. Leo

Jack has recently made friends with Mr. Leo, one of the many "nice guys" that work in the facilities department at Kohl's and occasionally come down to the daycare to fix things there too.  Mr. Leo discovered last month that Jack was my son when he was over talking to me at my desk and saw his picture (Mr. Leo is also my friend).  He then proceeded to tell me how Jack is his favorite "little dude" in the daycare and how he follows him all around asking what he is doing and "is it broken?".  Then he tries to imitate Mr Leo fixing everything.  When we picked Jack up the week of Christmas break this poster was hanging in the hallway outside of Jack's classroom.  Too funny!   You can click on this photo to make it larger and easier to read.

Happy Birthday To ME!

December 5th seems so long ago already.  It was a nice uneventful day and I was surprised to receive this beautiful bouquet of flowers from my brother Ron!
Jack on the other hand was happy that he also sent 2 helium balloons!
Drew...well he is just happy all the time!

Drew Body Paints A Tree

All the kids in Drew's class participated in a little body painting in effort to create a tree decoration for their door.  Looks like Drew had a good time!

The finished product!  Drew's portion is toward the bottom left just above that last strand of paper rings.

Santa Photo

Is this one of the saddest Santa pictures you've ever seen?  Jack was SO EXCITED to go see Santa and tell him about all the power tools he wants for Christmas but once we got there he clammed up and was very unsure of Santa, even though we were the only ones there and Santa was being beyond friendly.  Poor Drew is just dazed and confused.  Oh well, they can laugh about this one some day...this was actually the best of the worst!

St. Nick's

So out here in the midwest they celebrate St Nick's Eve which basically means you do Christmas stockings (or shoes) the night of December 5th for them to find the next morning.
Trying to navigate the obstacle course that has become our family room to get to his stocking.
Taking in all the details of his Toy Story puzzle, which has really kept him busy this week!

Mmmm...resee's cups...my favorite!
Some mini m-a-m's as Jack calls them.
A fun snoopy that spins a crazy disco light, who knew that this would be such a hit?

It's a blurry shot but had to share...do we have a couple of major thumb suckers on our hands or what?!

Thanksgiving

We had a nice low-key Thanksgiving and grandma Pat came to spend a few days with us.  Jack loved being on vacation all week, especially because daddy set-up Beatles Rock Band in the basement.

Jack wore his turkey hat he made at school all through dinner.  He gave thanks for Boston Market's corn bread...that was all he would touch!

Drew, as usual, was a very good sport!

Jack was obsessed with grandma Pat's cane, you can tell that's all he really cares about here.
This is what happens when I tried to get one nice picture of the boys and this isn't even all the takes!
Somehow Jack thought this would be a good time to teach Drew how to fist bump.

This was the closest we came so I'll take it!

Drew is 6 months old!

Drew had his 6 month appointment yesterday, weighing in at 19lbs 7oz and 27 1/2" long (85th percentile across the board and the same as Jack at this age).  He had an excellent time playing with the paper on the exam table as you can see.  He did great and only cried for about 10 seconds after his 2 shots.  Jack was there for moral support as always!

One Little, Two Little, Drew Little Indian

Drew was learning about Thanksgiving at school this week and apparently got into character.

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!!

This was costume "try-on" the night before the daycare Halloween parade Friday.

Here is Drew in his buggy at school getting ready to line up for the parade, apparently the giraffe was a popular costume in his class amongst boys & girls.
Connor is consoling Drew.
This one cracks me up, they are both looking at each other like "what in god's name is on your head?!"
 Jack with his class.
Jack was demonstrating his "lasers".
Look at those big blue eyes!
Here is Drew's class going across the stage.
Jack's class was not far behind.
Jack was surprisingly animated and even danced a little on stage for everyone!
After the parade Jack convinced daddy to take him home for the day and they stopped off to pick up a few pumpkins.
Jack picked 2 winners.
Apparently a frosty consists of "lunch" when you stay home for the day with daddy.
After getting all hopped up on sugar and feeling a little sassy, this is how we found Jack in his room for his nap....everything that was in his bed was on the floor, including him!
Saturday night we went trick-or-treating at the zoo.  Jack had a blast, it was pitch dark by the time we left and we ended the night with a "spooky" train ride.  We will definitely do that again next year!
Sunday was trick-or-treat in our neighborhood and we had done nothing to get ready so...let the pumpkin carving begin!
...well as long as it's not wet and slimy!
Here's our little fireman ready to hit the streets in search of more sugar.
He didn't even let the rain stop him!
Back safe & sound, cozying up to mommy for more SUGAR!
 Dan's pumpkins, R2D2 and Yoda...pretty cool!
I went for the quick & easy batman for mine.  The weekend long festivities seemed never ending but all in all a good Halloween despite a little rain.
