Jack Gets A "Big Boy" Room

While Jack was at school this past Wednesday, Woody & Buzz stopped by to paint & decorate Dan's old office in the Toy Story theme for Jack now that he is a BIG BOY!
They even placed all of his books and stuffed animals in the room so Jack would feel at home.  His loyal monkey and lizard were waiting right on the ladder to great Jack.
Daddy told Jack who came over and what they did and then he came barreling through the door to see for himself!
Greeting Buzz and happy to see all of his swim trophies on the dresser.
The bed was a big hit.  Not only does it have a ladder on each side to "climb to the top" but it also has doors to a "fort" underneath.
Jack tried to lure Dexter into his lair...Dolly didn't fall for it.
Climbing up was a cinch...it was climbing down that needed a little work but after a few tries he was a pro.
He couldn't stop giggling, I don't think he could believe that this was really his room!
Jumping on the bed has been quite the past time, hopefully the novelty will wear off quickly.  We were impressed that he actually slept in the room on the first night and hasn't looked back since!  We talked about Drew moving into his old room and he was surprisingly fine with that and is actually upstairs now helping daddy and grandpa put the crib back together.  What a big boy!

Another Car Ride?!

Drew has been a good little car rider, falling asleep almost instantly every time.

Daddy's Big Boy Helper

Jack has been very busy helping daddy around the house now that he is a big boy and not a baby like Drew.  He especially likes to help with outdoor projects now that it is warmer out like watering the seed for new grass.

Jack stating a very proud "I did it!"

Drew Comes Home - May 13th Weekend

Drew survived his first ride in the car like a champ sleeping the whole way home.

He also passed the bomb sniffing test from Dexter.

Fast asleep in the pack-n-play.

The swing was also a hit!

Dolly stands guard as Drew naps on the couch.

Jack recieved many "big brother" gifts which was really sweet, among them was a really cute "Tickle Monster" book which comes with these hysterical furry tickle paws that he loves!  Thanks Tess & Family!

Jack Meets Drew - May 11th

Jack was really excited to see me and meet Drew.  Thankfully he was out of the room when they arrived so he got some "mommy time" first.  When Drew came back in Jack brought one of the stuffed animals Drew received as a gift for his little brother, it was really cute!

The novelty of the little brother wore off quickly and it was promptly on to what kind of fun stuff is in this room to play with?!  Jack is obsessed with "climbing to the top" of anything and everything so he was delighted to see some step stools in the room which he lined up to eventually get to the cool spinning stool.

First kiss from big brother!

Me and my boys!

The Big Day - May 10th

Andrew was born via c-section, we had a great team that delivered him and my recovery was so much easier this time having not had to experience a long labor like I did with Jack.

As you can see he weighed in at 9 lbs 3 oz yet he feels tiny after now being so used to picking Jack up at 32 lbs!  He is definitely long & lean, no fat rolls to munch on.

Daddy got to hold him first after cutting the umbillical cord then he brought him over to me.

Not quite ready for the papparazzi.

I finally get to meet the little guy!

Daycare Announcement

I went to pick Jack up yesterday for the 1st time since I came home from the hospital and thought it was so sweet that his teachers made this poster and had it hanging on their classroom door.  I was told that at 10:00 in the morning on Andrew's birthday all the kids had an M&M to celebrate Jack becoming a big brother.  I promise I will add more pictures tomorrow since I finally had a minute to get them off the camera so stay tuned.  I don't know where this week has gone!

Drew's 1st couple days...

Just a few shots from my phone in the hospital, will try and post the ones from the camera tomorrow.  He is just a few hours old here.  We were happy to see that he was sporting the same mohawk as Jack but altogether Drew has far more hair.  Jury is still out on his eye color, right now they are a dark steel blue.
Day #2, very mellow and a good sleeper!
1st trip in the car on the way home Friday.  He slept all the way up until we were 2 minutes from our house and we decided to go get McDonald's then he started crying right on cue so we ended up going straight home.
Day #3, as you can see he has a message for "the man"...or maybe a glimpse of things to come as he has spent most of Friday night & Saturday sleeping in 5 minute intervals between nursing.

Definitely brothers!

Welcome Baby Andrew!!!

As most of you already know we welcomed our 2nd son into the world on May 10th, this is a photo of the dry erase board the nurses filled out in our hospital room.  They took great care of us and we were relieved to see many of the same nurses as when we were there almost 2 1/2 years ago to deliver Jack!  However, we were also happy to get discharged and make our way home to get settled in even though it was on Friday the 13th!  We are very blessed to have 2 beautiful boys and look forward to sharing updates with you all along the way!

Mother's Day at the Zoo

We spent the morning at the zoo for the first time this season, Jack was really excited and actually wanted to try a pony ride which he loved!  We walked around for 3 hours and I had a lot of contractions but the little guy is still holding out!
Thought this shot of Jack & daddy on the choo-choo or "Thomas" as Jack referred to it was cute...I love that they are looking the same direction and even holding their hands the same way!  Jack loved waving to everyone out the window and especially when the choo-choo blew his horn.

Hammertime

Jack was learning about construction this week at school and this poster was hanging outside his door, he is definitely a "hammer" kind of guy so we weren't surprised that he landed in that column.

The Eagle Has Landed

Jack loved this sculpture chair of an eagle at the furniture store.

Rain, Rain Go Away

With all the rain we've been having lately, Jack finally got the chance to try out his cool Cars umbrella for the very first time.  This umbrella has been awaiting him since his babyshower...thanks great Aunt Janice!
